I am going to be running the k-motion k-800 valve springs and I ordered the following retainers and locks:

CCA-613-16 10 degree lock angle, 11/32 in. valve stem, machined, without recess for lash cap, super valve locks $25.95 $25.95

CCA-740-16 1.437 to 1.500 in. double valve spring diameters, 10 degree locks, steel, valve spring retainers $59.99 $59.99

Do I need cup type seats or just run some shims under the spring? What do you guys recommend to attain the recommended install height?

I wish I could tell you, I got the titanium retainers which changes that, and now that I think about it, I wish I had gotten a cup type shim, it may be a good idea but you may want to research it first, I know me and altjar are both running standard shims.
