shifting trouble

hey, i replaced my clutch a few days ago. it was my second time doing it, so it went pretty smoothly. the only problem now is that the "safety" switch in the tranny that kept you from shifting into reverse isnt working any more. i have to force the shifter over to move the thing out of the way to put it in reverse. also, i can do this while i'm driving. i checked all of the connectors on the bottom of the tranny. they seem to be all in the right place (i dont think they can be interchanged anyways). any help? thanks.

That's very strange. Take out the one for the reverse lockout and see if the prongs got bent or something.

yeah, it is wierd. ill check those prongs tomorrow morning. might spray them down with some electric contact cleaner.

you know, i dont think the skip shift is working either. although ill double check in the morning. but i hadnt noticed it engaging either. but that could be because its been cold out. (engine has to be above 170* right?) hmm. if it isnt working, any other suggestions?
thanks guys.

i think i remembered the two solenoid (cags, and reverse lockout) connectors are the same, just try switching them around to see if it works...
