shift light help

Angry shift light help

i got a pro form shift light and i cant get it to work. its the one with the dile on the back. i hooked up the black and red wires to power and ground and the green to the pink and black wire off the coil. It still doesent work the light just stays on. please help

tap the signal wire into the white wire on the red connector comming from the pcm.

does it matter what i hook the power wire up to? do i have to hook it up to the ignition power?

Well, for one thing you tapped the wrong wire off of the coil My Haynes manual shows that for a '95Z you should have tapped the coil "driver" wire, which should be colored white with a black stripe. Also polarity DOES matter with a shiftlight! The RED wire from the light goes to a +12 volt source, and the BLACK wire from the light goes to ground. The GREEN wire from the light goes to the coil driver wire mentioned above. Hope this helps
