she just turned off on me

she just turned off on me

OK i was on my way to race and my car just shut off. i warning nothing just shut off. i checked for spark nothing but the interesting thing is i have no fuel now. is there anything else i should check for? i am going to work on the car tomorrow night and check the power to the pcm anything else i should look for?

last time this happened to me the fuel pump went out. check that and also see what codes u have if any. Also check power connections, never know what may of come loose on you.

yeah i was goingt to check it tomorrow or friday i am just a little upset over the whole thing right now. i need to review the power lines to the pcm

Have you scanned it for codes?

What year is the car? Might want to add a "signature", with basic info - year, model, engine, tranny and any major mods. That will help people help you.

sorry well its interesting. my lt1 is from a 95 caprice and its in an 88 rx7. i have no idea what else to lok for i was told right away its my opti and i didn't know what else to look for. fuel pump is running with a 9v battery but its not running in the car what other signs can i look for i am going to scan the car on friday see if i have any codes

If for example, the Opti is not putting out the low resolution cam position signal (DTC 16), the PCM will shut down the fuel system - pump and injectors. It should still prime for a couple seconds when you turn the key to on, then stop. Does the pump start at all? Have you tested the fuel pump using the "fuel pump prime connector"? That bypasses the fuel pump relay and the PCM.

mine doesn't prime at all i am not sure how to do the prime but then again i have no spark so there has to be something else wrong!

There should be a gray connector in the wiring harness near the PCM (not sure if thge B-Body harness matches the F-Body harness though). You apply 12V to the prime connector. Shoebox has a photo of the F-Body setup:

after many hours of looking around nothing is wrong with my pcm or my fuel pump turns out that its my mazda main relay that went bad. now i have to hunt for that!!

should be under the dash by the driver side kick panel.

remember we are talking about an lt1 in a mazda rx7 the main relay is in the engine bay i just can't find one so i am going to have to make one!

hrm, my brother had an old rx7, and his was under the dash. so if you kept the mazda main relay, its still there

well i am not sure then. all i know is i put a jumper on the relay in the engine bay and i had power back to the pcm. i am working on setting up new relays to control the pcm,fuel pump
