SES light throwing code 62 oil temp sensor on 1995 z28

the smog shop says this computer doesnt support code 62 and that this car doesnt have an oil temp sensor the smog shop also says that it needs a new computer for the engine. i dont want to spend 300 dollars for something i dont need i need help what should i do about this??!??!

The F-Body LT1 does not have an oil temperature sensor, so the code is not valid. The Y-Body LT1 does have an oil temp sensor, so that would be a valid code for a Corvette. But not for a Firebird/Camaro.

Take Shoebox's factory wiring diagrams to the shop, and ask them to tell you where the oil temp sensor connects to the PCM:
