"Service engine soon" light....really bugging me

My "service engine soon" light keeps coming on when ever i drive my car for more then 20 minutes or so. Then it goes away when i turn the car off, but will come back on later while i'm driving. I checked every connection and sensor in the engine, not that. Could it be that my 2 cooling fans are burned out?

Why guess.... get it scanned. The code will still be stored in the PCM, even if the SES light is off.

If you are saying that your fans are burned out, then yes more than likely. My fans run constantly and causes the SES light to come on just the same as yours. We chased it down to a short in the pcm. I need to fix it but eh... it still runs.

You have it backwards unless you have a very unusual situation. The SES causes the fans to come on. The computer turns the fans on to protect the engine.

Shoebox is right. The fans come on when the SES is on. If it were the other way around, the SES would be on quite a bit.
