Seriously... Do LT1 Heads Suck?
I ask this question because i'm questioning my next mods. I want a Turbo kit and i don't know if Dropping a grand to port my heads or 2 Grand for new Heads is worth it.
What do you guys think? Should i just skip the Heads and do a Forged Buildup/Turbo Kit install at the same time? What would you do? I'm looking at buying a kit from Proturbokits.com.

If i drove my camaro everyday, with your mods, and wanted boost... the most i'd run is 4.5 lbs.
You can achieve the same power out of porting your heads. Long tubes and cam usually gets u around 325-345 wrhp.. get your heads reworked fromfrom phil, llyod, killian for 1000-1400 dollars and you'll be looking at an additional 40-80wrhp depending.
And your engine will last longer.

When referring to the traditional SBC 23 degree head, the LT4 heads are the best head Chevy ever put on a high production motor with the LT1 a close second. So, for sure, they don't suck. Any production head can be improved upon, and none are in any way optimzed for forced induction. So if you are asking "can I use the stock heads", the answer is "sure". If you are asking can I gain more hp with head work, the answer is also "sure".

Appreciate the reply's but i think i confused people with the wording of my post.
Should have just asked "If you were going to do F/I on an LT1.. Would you port your heads?"
I'm honestly just leaning towards Turbo Kit/Forged Bottom end then next year doing the heads but we'll see. Thanks again guys.
