the car is running and the security light is on.were is the box that controls this?cannot find this any were?can any one help?

 

The module is located to the right of the center console near the glove box. Try getting a resistor of the same value as the pellet in your key and put it in the 2 pin connector at the base of the steering wheel (not the yellow connector) Be sure to disconnect it first. This will have the effect of making the module think the key is in and making contact. See if the light goes out. If it doesn't the module is probably bad

 

i had the exact problem for months. the car ran fine for about 3 months untill one day the car wouldn't start at all. good thing it was in my driveway it turned out to be the lock on the steering wheel. i got a new one and a new key and everything went back to normal. my advise is fix it now before you get stuck somewhere. it might not be your house
