i moved the wires from under the cage they are kinda squashed but none have insulation striped off. I turned the key to on and the security light came on for about 2 seconds then went off. I turned the key to start usually the fuse blows but this time it did not instead the starter tried to turn over. The car gives an SES light and the secruity light comes on for another 2 seconds.

I think the fact that it does not keep cranking is because of a dying battery. Also i never hear the fuel pump come on at all.

I think you cleared your short. Now you have a different problem. Start by charging the battery. Make sure everything else is hooked back up.

would i need to repair the wires that were pinched or once they are un pinched they are good again? Also when should the fuel pump engage?

After it tries to crank it just stops and makes a loud clicking noise.

well the cars starter works fine it tries to crank. Fuel pump never comes on though. When the key is turned to start the SES light comes on and the security light comes on but it goes off in about 2 to 3 seconds. Fuel pump nerve engages.

Lyle A : Thanks for all of your help! I made it over to his house today and we figured out the problem in minutes! Everything is running great and I hope we can get this dash back together with no problems. It actually was the fuel pump...for some reason when the wires were crimped, it wasn't sending the right signal. So I think that they are fine and don't need to be replaced. But again...thanks for the help!

I appreciate that. But, Ponykillr and yourself are the ones that deserve the credit. I just just gave you the routes and through elimination the right path was found. Welcome to the world of troubleshooting. I'm glad it's fixed.
