Seafoam Problems

Anyone ever have a seafoam related problem? Ive done it a couple of times, however, the last time i did it i didnt get the car to operating temps, and during the seafoam run it started hesistating then i took it out for a spin and its missing like crazy and throwing the random/multiple cylinder misfire code. Anyone have any suggestions as to what happened?

Re: Seafoam Problems

Could be your O2s got fouled. That's a chance you take when using stuff like that.

Re: Seafoam Problems

would the o2s getting fouled cause the car to throw the random cylinder miss code and bog at all rpms?

o yea im also getting slight black smoke and the smell of unburnt fuel is very evident.

Re: Seafoam Problems

did you 'clear it out' after putting the seafoam into the car? Might just need to be hammered on a couple times.

Re: Seafoam Problems

That will happen with that stuff. It doesn 't burn very well and your car will run like total crap until you get it out. Mine would hardly start and had no power at all. It was hesitating, backfiring, stumbling etc...Don't worry, just burn that stuff out of there.

Re: Seafoam Problems

May have to change your plugs and O2 sensors cause that stuff fouls them up pretty bad. That's why it's recommended right before a full tune up. Good Luck.

Re: Seafoam Problems

Your probly have a fouled up O2 sensor. Its possible the plugs would be fouled out too? However I would think that they would burn themselves clean if you ran it hard a few times ?

Either way, a bad o2 will make it bog and miss. When I had a bad o2, my car would sputter like crazy under any load, unless i went to full throttle ( Or close to it, where the computer over rides the o2 input )

If you floor it does it seem to go away ? If so then I would start with the 02's ... if the problem still exhists, then its probly the plugs.
