Sea foam before head/cam swap??

My thoughts are to get the engine as clean as possible before throwing in 4K on heads/cam/lifters/etc.etc. I've read a lot of posts on Sea foam--more good than bad. Figured since I'll be replacing my O2's and plugs soon anyways, I might as well give it a shot.

Any reason why I should NOT do this???

where are you gonna the sea foam in? gas? oil? Intake?

If you are gonna put it in the gas, it doesnt really matter. If you are gonna put it in the oil, definately do it before, since you dont want all that crap running around in your new heads. If you are gonna put it in your intake, dont even bother since you will be having new heads. Take your intake to a shop to be hot tanked for a few bucks, and clean your piston tops yourself. This way you wont have to worry about your O2s.

Cool

I'm not firmilure with this sea foam but I you want to clean crud from your motor buy a can of Motor flush (basically keroseen) and let the engine idle for 20 min.

Best to have the engine fully warmed up them shut it off to pour in the motor flush. Let it idle for 20 min then drail out the oil as soon as you shut it off. ***Don't rev or drive the car with motor flush in it***

I'm planning on putting it in the oil/intake. Should be interesting to see how "clean" it gets everything when I pull the heads.

Thanks for the replies.

well when i pulled my intake manifold the oil galley looked very clean. I maintain my car pretty well though, too, and it only had 55K at the time. You probably wont see too much that will shock ya.

Now the INtake manifold on the other hand that was caked with carbon crap. i didnt clean my though, since i had to have my car ready the following week.
