Scanning codes on a swapped lt1
Scanning codes on a swapped lt1
If i was to scan for codes with a snap on scanner on my 92/lt1 swap would i need a obd2 style aldl connector or can i use the stock aldl. Im confused because the obd2 style connector for a snap on scanner has keys for it obd1 doesnt. the aldl obd1 connector in a 95 is the same as a aldl obd2 in a 96 so if i was to switch it to a 95 connector the scanner will think its obd2. how do you guys scan your 95 obd1 car with a obd2 aldl dash connector?
Re: Scanning codes on a swapped lt1
I have done the LT1 swap into an 84 Corvette and there are a couple of wys to go about it. The way idid it is i got a cable from AKM data cables for $30 and stuck a OBDI style connector wired the same way he has it shown on the web site, then I downloaded the FreeScan software and scanned that way. since I asume you have the 92/93 ECM I would use the OBDI sytyle connector. I know a lot of the new scanners ask for the year and make of the car, so if you tell them a 93 F-body it should scan just fine, I just scanned my 94 Corvette last week at Auto Zone on a trip to Maryland because i forgot my laptop and it scaned just fine with the scaner they had. It asked what year the car was and poof the codes where there. I have the OBDII stlye connector and the OBDI (Well realy OBDI 1/2 it has some OBD2 codes and the rear O2 sensor) ECM
