Scanner for 94 Chevy lt1

Hey guys I know we have a downloaded software for the codes on this site. But I don't have internet access to do that, only on my phone. But I found one on eBay called Actron CP 9185. I researched it and talked to the seller about it,and found out it will work for my 94. And the seller has the cable too as well, any thoughts on the scanner or opinions I'll take. Thank you guys

Re: Scanner for 94 Chevy lt1

The creator of the Scan9495 software tested a cp9185 and verified it worked on OBD-1:

Note the requirement for the correct Actron optional cable, and the need to supply 12 volts to the scanner, since 12 volt power is not available in the 94 DLC. Also, if you want to interface it with a PC, there are limits on the PC operating system.

I have that tool. you will need the 12V cable that (to a cigarette lighter ) the connector cable to the diagnostic connection is a little short. Good Tool!

Hey Plattted,
I emailed the seller,he said I don't need to buy anything, the whole kit comes with everything. Also too it has a female connector for the adapter in case if my cig lighter doesn't work or if I don't have one. This kit will be awesome he mentioned.

Re: Scanner for 94 Chevy lt1

Hey guys I been using my scanner and this tool freaking rocks,so I'll try to make this short and wont try to bore you guys too much. So before I bought my scanner I decided to change some pigtails connectors for some of my sensors bcuz the clips were broken and they were falling apart. Here's what I changed and all these are from rockauto

1. Four fuel injectors
2. Evap purge solenoid on the intake manifold
3. Vacuum solenoid drivers side in the back, not sure if that's the name.
4. Map and Maf
5. IAC and ICM

So after I did all that my car had codes 34,48,41 my IAC was at 160 on the scanner,my idling was so horrible like 400 or 500,shaking erratically. I realized the pigtails connectors the MAP,MAF, IAC,ICM wires only had one color and not color coordinated like the original GM stock ones.

I sent them back to Rock Auto, got refunded. I got the 4 I mentioned on eBay,and the ones from Ebay are the GM stock ones for my camaro. I managed to get the connectors done this morning and now my Camaro is back to normal, all codes cleared,my IAC counts were at 67. All my sensors were at the right voltage.

Now to add this has anyone ordered pigtails from Rock Auto? And I wanted to know when i was doing the pigtail for my IAC valve, i had a really hard time finding the blue wires on my wire harness, they all looked green on my harness, but I went thru way to the harness to look and it looked like there was blue hiding in the very bottom. Didn't know if anyone has had that in their wire for the IAC

my camaro a 94 lt1,m6,and too many mods to list

Shoebox has the GM and AC Delco part #’s for many of the pigtails:

1993-1997 F-Body Part Number Collection

Ideally, at fully warmed up idle, IAC counts should be in the range of 20-40. IAC valve pintle may need to be cleaned.

Vacuum solenoid at the rear/drivers side is the solenoid that is used to pulse width modulated the EGR valve.

cool thank you Fred. I didn't fully warm up the engine for the counts you mentioned, but I'm glad to see the car running better than before. I'll keep those gm #s from shoebox in mind. Thank you for your info as well. ✌👍🏼💪🤜🤛
