I believe the code 26 is for a QDM fault, which is inside the ECM

Code 27- EGR vacuum control solenoid circuit

26 is Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve circuit
27 is Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) vacuum control signal solenoid valve circuit

Here is a full listing of CODES from Shoebox's website.

He doesn't have a 1993. No QDM faults on a 1994.

Since you have 2 faults for solenoids, I would check fuses first.

But not a completely correct answer. You have to use the correct list for the LT1. Shoebox has it on his site. 93 was the last year that the ECM included the quad driver modules. In 94/95 DTC 26 is for the EVAP purge solenoid.

Check the harness connectors for both solenoids, assuming you still have them connected. They also share a common fuse.

Would my factory manual lead me to the right codes? Or does anyone know which fuses to check off the top of their head. Also would the egr falt be causing the ratty running?

If you have a factory service manual, you have everything you need to troubleshoot (info-wise).

The EGR fault is for the electrical circuit to the EGR vacuum solenoid. It isn't likely that would be the problem, unless the solenoid is shorted to ground, and is staying fully open all the time. Pull the harness connector off the solenoid, and see if it affects the way the engine runs. It wouldn't idle well at all if the EGR system was "on" at idle.... probably just stall.
