Actually, I think you will find my online ScanMaster writeup is a little better than the sheet of paper they give you with the unit....

(link no longer works send me an email)

You cant clear codes WITH the scanmaster but if you need to clear codes all you do is disconnect your battery terminals for 5 minutes of disconnect your PCM fuse for about 1 minute. Either one of those will clear your SES codes.

Thx,
Claude

Well, it will clear it for a while, but you usually need a tool to wipe the codes out, a Snap On, ect. The codes will eventually come back once it relearns. GOOD luck!

LT1 SCANMASTER
This stand alone product is compatible with LT1 powered cars and trucks. It will display many (21) computer modes for tuning and also display and clear trouble codes.

If the problem is still there, the code is going to appear again as soon as the PCM runs the diagnostic for that system. Doesn't matter whether you cleared it by pulling the "PCM BAT" fuse, a software system like DataMaster or AutoTap, or a professional level tool like the OTC Tech-series or a SnapOn.

You can of course alter the programming to turn off diagnostics or put the system operating parameters outside the range of normal engine operation, but that's something else.

As Claude states, the ScanMaster does not have any provision for clearing codes.

then they are falsely advertising thier product. :P

every description states it can clear DTC.

Seems wrong to say it can do something if it can't.

Maybe they've "updated" it or changed something. Mine is more than 5 years old. It was made by a company (Modern Musclecar) that is now part of "Ramchargers". Did you check their website.
