i was told they didnt make a K&N airfilter for my car, it a 97 SS.....most ppl should be familiar with the cold air settup....but searching through ppls web pages i found one with a K&N ..any body know anything about whether they made them or not for my car

 

Technically,no,they didnt make one for the SS.They do make one that fits.It is for a Jeep.# is 2018,I believe.I have one.Do a search for it and I am sure you will find it.

Also, I think either Holley or some other manufactuer makes one SS specific.

 

the one holley makes is also for a dodge ram and dakota but they list it to fit the 96-97 ss cars, part# hly-221-5 summitt has it for $40.95 i was thinking of getting one for my ss.... it's a cross reference filter to our stock paper filters so i really dont see a problem with them fitting... i think that is just all b.s. that the paper filter is better for the ss cars...

 

I have the K&N FIPK now, but I still have my old stock SS cold air set up with the filter. I'll get you the part number....

Thats the K&N part number on the box I have right here. Look for somewhere that distibutes them. Maybe Autozone? Anyways.. thats the number.
