Unfortunately, it's not that easy.

sorry to hijack this thread, but i am kind of in the same situation, might be able to add to the thread. I have a 383 that i just broke in with a base tune with my 32 lb injectors. i will be getting 42 lb injectors in a about a week. would it be safe to run the car tuned to 32 with the 42's? i don't want to do it, and will get a re tune if necessary, just wondering what serious damage could occur? rings get washed out?

If you run 42s on a tune designed for 32s, you're going to end up with a lot of extra fuel in there.
It'll run rich, the piston walls will be stripped of lubricant and you'll likely contaminate/dilute the oil with excess fuel.
Why would you want to do that?
You can change injectors easily once you reach the dyno facility and avoid the problem alltogether.
Seriously ... do you really want to run your car on the dyno with diluted oil?

hah no, and i figured that'd be the case. i have to send my injectors out to be reworked. unless i find that 32lb/hr injectors will be fine for <450 Rwhp :/
they will be getting reworked to 42 lb/hr

Gonna need at least 36s, more likely 42s.
Might as well do it right the first time.
