SA or NSA RR's? HELP

Im about to start ordering my parts for my camswap, Im going with the cc305 or cc503 with 1.6rr and unsure weather to go SA or NSA I know NSA needs guied plates but Im unclear how that system works If somebody could clear htis up for me that would be great.

What would you go for SA or NSA?

I Planned on going with the comp 918 valve springs until I found out they wouldnt work with SA rockers, what would be a good valve spring set for SA part numbers would be great.

Thanks alot guys just trying to get everything figured out before i order all this stuff so I buy the right parts once. Thanks in advance.

The self aligning 1.6 RRs provide very good service with engines turning RPMs under 7K. However, if you're turning above 7K you should go the non-self aligning configuration and use the guide plates.

I'm running the Comp 918 Beehives "with" Crane self aligning 1.6 RRs. Also, I have Crane 3/8" custom push-rods. So yes, you "can" run the 918s with self aligning RRs (Cranes, not sure about other brands).

My engine is a 396 stroker w/ the biggest Comp XFI cam that shifts at 6500 RPM, therefore I feel the self aligning RRs are adequate for my application.

Engineer hit it on the nail, you dont need to go NSA. that's a good thing cuz you can find SA 1.6rr's in the for sale section for a good price sometimes. you dont really need NSA rockers until you run a cam that's really hard on parts and you need the extra valvtrain stabilty. I went the NSA route becuase Bret recommend's it and just in case i need to change setups again i wont have to buy new parts again.
