S**t!! Don't know if I have a pilot bushing installed

I bought a 95 LT1 motor that came from an A4 tranny. Not even thinking about it since a new bushing wasn't included in my clutch kit, I just installed. Would there be a loud noise if there was in fact one not installed? Chances are there is one in there cause who would take it out, right? Just want to be sure though. When I started the car up it sounded fine. Haven't driven it yet though

You would probably get vibrations in the tranny and the input shaft and bearings are going to have some extra stress on them.

No, chances are there is not one in there if it was from an auto, because they don't use one. I would say you are taking a big chance of breaking the input shaft without a bearing or bushing in there.

No drop the tranny and install one in the crank. Problem solved!

i used mt WCt-5 on an LT1 motor and no pilot bushing was there...well after a spirited launch i smoked the mainshaft out of it..those 15 roller bearing that the tip of the mainshaft ride on are no longer round..there all square and the mainshaft is canned...

Yea, ur gonan wanna pull that out and put one on, i had a similar problem. My input shaft was soo damaged that ti wasnt even hardley touching the pilot bearing/bushing. Bad vibrations ensued....
