RWHP gains from Elec. Waterpump and 160 thermostat???
I waited a while before I bought a T stat, don't know why. It is a reassuring feeling when you look down at the temp gauge and see that it is running cool. And it's only $20!
I passed on the electric wp idea, too many cons for my taste. 1.6 rockers sound like the best idea along with TRACTION

Another vote for 1.6rr, there Great! a 160 stat should help you with power. It keeps the engine running a little cooler (at least it does on mine), and remember cold air equals more power. I think for every 10 degrees you lower the temp, the engine creates 1 or 2% more power, besides it's only $20!

Dude, GET TRACTION
If he only beat you by half a car and you were spinning you shold make up a car lenght or more. I am judging this because you said you pulled 2.3 60 fts. Nitto dr hook great on the street, especially a old concret bridge
. But if you wanted to add horse power 1.6 rr is the best bang for the buck, but on another note i have had no probs with my electric wp. The car runs cooler than ever before.
Ever Tried Nitrous
No one can spray just one time!!!
Good luck

Thanks for all the imput guys.
I am doing a hotcam REALLY soon so the RR's will be going in with that. I was just hoping to run a little cooler and maybe get 10 rwhp out of a H20 pump and a 160 degree thermostat. It looks like from what yall said i will be able to do that. Thanks again.

Have you done any PCM prgramming? The sig doesn't list anything, and if I was you, I would go with the expert LT1_edit, or Tunercat. There are also other ones (pcmforless, madz28), that will do it for you. I have heard of up to 20HP gains from this.

Yeah im gonna get it tuned after the hotcam. Most likeley the place that is doing the cam for me will do the programming. They have LT1 Edit. If not i will probably just get it Dyno tuned. We will see.

The electric water pump was an easy install.. I did it last weekend with my opti change. If you take the fan out, and you get the CSI you don't have to cut the fan shroud, but you do have to grind a little bit off of the housing of the old waterpump. Easy install and it keeps my car a lot cooler!!!

yeah after the hotcam i am gonna have to save up for a 12 bolt and some DR's.
Cause i dont wanna blow my stock 10 bolt with my 4.10's in it. Running cooler would sure be nice though.
