SLP CAI owners...

Im having trouble getting my rubber coupling between the MAF and the SLP CAI to seal correctly..I have a rubbe coupling that has a inner skirt and its hard to get it in there correctly..Is there a better rubber coupling people are using that makes it easier for it to seal? My MAF moves around freely even when I turn the hose clamps..Does home depot or Lowes sell a rubber attachment that would fit the maf and the end of the CAI?

THanks

Cody

Just did a little research and I see people are using 3" Fernco sewer connectors..Do I need a 5" to 3" reducer and how long do I need?

Mine was hard to get to seal at first, but now it seals fine after I worked at it a little bit.

My brothers' fits on fine, but it's been on there for a few years now.
We are putting a brand new one onto a 3rd gen when the motor arrives, hopefully it seals fine.

Mine fits so tight i have to force it on and then it is hard as hell to get the MAF sensor back off.

I got a 3" rubber connector (it was actually encased in some stainless stuff) at a local hardware store for like $4 and it works perfectly. Nothing moves or anything.

I remember pulling the rubber ring off the stock air hose when I put my CAI on, but I don't remember having any problems getting it to seal or hold in place... Mine seems to be fine. There is a little channel in that rubber ring that the CAI slips into (there's rubber inside and outside of the CAI tubing), then the MAF connects to that I believe. Or I have that backwards... But I didn't have any trouble either way..

Only trouble I had was forcing the filters onto the tubes.

Mine went on with no problems.

Now that we are in on the subject. I bought mine used and its the stainless stell or polished one. How come that one is not shown on SLP's sight? I know other people ahve the same one, but there is no color option on SLP's site.

I have heard that the polished stainless ones were sold at dealerships... But I cannot confirm that.

Go the speed density route and then you don't have to worry about that. I did have a hell of a time getting the rubber bellows over the end of my SLP tube. I think I smeared it up with alot of baby oil to get it on.

The Polished ones were part of the Camaro F1 package through dealers.
