This rust on the cylinder walls anything to worry about?

I have my heads off and a little rust is forming on the walls. Is this anything to worry about? I know it would come off after I started the car but its not going to scratch the cylinder walls is it?

Nuttin to worry about at all, just take a clean rag and spray it with some WD-40, and wipe the cylinder walls off, then just coat each cylinder with Some WD-40 until you are ready to put the heads back on....

Yeah, they will clean up like Teal said.

How many miles on that engine? I can still see the cross-hatching on the cylinder walls.

Cross-hatching is put there by the final honing of the cylinders. I guess there is not much of a ring groove either (lip inside of the top of the cylinder where the top ring cannot travel). That would mean there is not much wear on the cylinders.

Awesome, very good to hear. I bought the car 1,000 miles ago from a guy who was getting married but I was curious why he still had the skip shift installed. I asked him and he didnt even know that you could remove it. I got it for a really good deal and I am very happy with it, right when I pulled the intake I was happy that I didnt see these sludge monsters like I have been hearing about lately. This is just another bonus!
