running too lean

Been having some very tiresome issues lately. The car has new autolite 104s, new wires, is running a delteq, and was getting heavy false knock. I did the resistor trick and it runs smoother, but I'm hesitating at times between 2,500 and 3,000 rpms and the engine revs up rough in neutral. Its definitely down on power, missing at times, and throwing no codes

I have an exhaust leak on the pass. side and I think that contributes to my split blms. cells 2,9,16,18 and a few others show this split, but 11 and 10 among others will keep them closer together. however, those are up past the 140s. When I popped the hood after scanning, the passenger side was much hotter than the driver's. No glowing primaries, but it was cookin' in comparison. The 02s voltage jumps around and appear to be functioning properly.

My thoughts are even if the leak was fixed, there are still bigger problems that would continue this trend. The car has always seemed to run on the lean side. Could it be my tune? Fuel? Opti sensor going out? MAP is in the 55kpa range, IAC is 70 at idle. Car is pig rich at startup.

Re: running too lean

IAC is 70 at idle? That number scares me.

That is supposed to be 20-40 at idle...If you see numbers higher than this at idle, it is possible you have a dirty IAC motor pintle which is not moving correctly, or plugged air passages leading to the IAC motor.

And a vacuum leak in the exhaust will trip out the O2 and make it THINK its running lean, dumping more fuel to be wasted. Do you throw any codes?

no codes, I cleaned the TB and IAC last week and it has always seen similar IAC readings over the past year. It does have a cam and I've read it should be higher than stock. The plugs always come out so white so it doesn't seem like the car is dumping extra fuel
