Running rich after converter off???

I took the converter off of my 95' Z28 and my car is blowing some smoke out of the exhaust now. More than it was before and it's black, not blue. Both 02 sensors are BEFORE the "converter" like most of you probably know so i don't see how this would make a difference. Has anyone ever had this problem or is it normal just because there's not the converter there to filter the exhaust anymore. I also have SLP headers and a Borla Cat-back not that it probably makes a difference. Any info is appreciated.

I noticed this also after putting my long tubes and Hooker on. No cats needed here in FL.

Everyone I asked said it was normal.
