Running Lean

So Im misfiring at 5000+ and my plugs are a bit white. Im running lean... If I replace my fuel pressure regulator with a adjustable one and up the pressure a bit witll the computer compensate for it and shorten the pulse widths on the injectors?
I just installed new NGK Iridium plugs and NGK O2 sensors...

I have a 95 Z28 with OBD2, Delteq, CAI, UD Pulleys

Thanks

Re: Running Lean

Have you determined that the fuel system pressure is not within spec? Did you run a pressure check at 5000rpm where it starts to miss?

If so, you have to find out why its not meeting spec. Attempting to put a band-aid on it by jacking up the fuel pressure isn't the way to try and solve the problem.

You can't "tune" with fuel pressure. If its really running lean in closed loop/part load, the PCM should already have increased the long term fuel corrections to lengthen the pulse widths and increase fuel flow. Those long term corrections are used at WOT/power enrichment mode to set the pulse widths, so a lean condition should have been corrected.

If its not running lean in closed loop, but suddenly runs lean WOT/PE mode, you need to figure out why.

Unless you have done an OBD-I --> OBD-II PCM conversion, your 1995 does not have OBD-II. It has an OBD-I PCM, and a 16-pin OBD-II style ALDL connector.
