Rules for adjusting the headlights?

After the body shop did a little work on the nose of my car, the lights don't seemed aligned properly.

Isn't there a rule, like "at X distance from a wall, the light from the headlights should be X distance above the ground"?

Just adjust them at night. Do it until you get maximum vision.

There is an indicator with lines and a bubble in it that helps you to align your lights. This should get you close. If that doesent work, I would take it back to the body shop and see if they would fix it for you.

I got it, following the article I linked to. Worked great. Yeah, it's dark out now and it worked well. I've done it before, but didn't have the instructions anymore.

P.S. I'm aware of the bubble levels, but they have always been way off.
