Thumbs down ROUGH IDLE/Sluggish acceleration. Need help.

I was driving the old girl today and all of a sudden, I started noticing that the acceleration of the car became VERRRRY sluggish. I mashed the pedal to the floor when I was going around 30mph and the car BARELY accelerated. Then, every time that I put it into drive and reverse, it idles very, very rough. when its in park, it idles rough, but not normal.

Could be TPS took a dump. EGR is stuck or IAC is gunked up. Wait till you see the crap built up on the EGR and the IAC when you look at them. You won't believe it.

OPti has NEVER been replaced. Its a 93 with 80,000 miles. I haven't had a tune-up in like 8 months. I slumped into a bad job and haven't had the cash to maintain it like I used to.

I was thinking that the IAC could have taken a dump too, cause it feels like a MAJOR vacuum leak. (like the IAC counts being low)

it sounds like the cap and rotor are toast. you can get a new opti from here: http://samtaylor.com/html/parts.html or delteq if you want something better http://www.delteq.com/products.htm or the ltcc if you want to go all the way http://www.geocities.com/reilym/LTCC/ good luck.. I just bought the Delteq system, it should be here next week...

Could a clogged cat cause this type of condition? Cause if so thats probably it. I have used a gas analyzer on it and I have been running richer than Donald trump for MONTHS. Like 22:1 Rich I have SO much stuff to maintain on it but NO money to do it. every cent I'm making right now is going to the payment for the car. It sucks, I need a better JOB.

I'm gonna start with a tune-up first, and hope its not the opti, but I can almost GUARANTEE that at over 20:1 A/F ratio, not to mention all the HC and NoX's I was emitting, that the cat is CLOGGED to all hell.
