Thanks ChevyTuffD.A. I was watching the video and I thought maybe that there was intake on one said of the rocker and exhaust on the other. I think where I see where I went wrong. How many rockers are there on a v8 per side?

Okay that makes sense, one for exhaust and one for intake. So that makes 8 per side.

haven't had a chance to do the lifters yet, few months later haha. What do I have to do in order to adjust with the car running? It seems the easiest to do. This way I dont have to pull the belt off and turn the engine to find the correct up and downs on the exhaust and intakes. Do I need some old valve covers cut open at the top or can I get away with out with no oil covering my engine? lol

(just a side note, the rockers are stock, not roller)

.

I usually just cut a piece of cardboard the length of the head and about 6-8" tall. I place this in the area between the valve springs and the valve cover lip. This prevents the oil squirting from the pushrods from making a mess.

You have to torque the bolts down and in the right pattern or you will get leaks or you could over tighten the bolts stripping the threads.

Are we still only talking about installing new rocker arms?

If so, then in no way, shape or form should you be using a torque wrench. It may be in your best interest to find someone local to you that has done this before that can give you a hand.

You really don't need a torque wrench to do that either. Just make sure they are snug with a 1/4" drive ratchet. Go easy and you won't have any problems.
