roller rocker questions (tune, springs)

alright, picking up some comp pro-magnum RRs (1.6), right now i will run strictly bolt on only, but i was wondering, what will the effect on my tune be? make it run leaner?
also, for springs, should I just pick up LT4 springs then? or would LS1 springs work

The rockers will have very little effect on your tune, and just to be safe you should change the springs. Whet spring to go with depends on future mods.

well, for my next motor, i am getting heads from AI with a custom grind cam, so i would probably need to change springs then anyways, otherwise i am really looking the crane 227 or LPE 219/219 560/560 cam where id be fine getting springs now.
Also, does anybody know how much power im looking at gaining here?

If you plan on upgrading the heads, for now I would go with the LT4 springs. They are cheap (~$30), and will work fairly well with the 1.6 rockers.

You'll gain 10-15 hp by upgrading to the 1.6 RR's.

My uderstanding is the 99892's are a version of the 99893's. The 99893's are good to .710 lift and are a dual spring. Are you sure you need this much spring in your car? You'll also have to pull the heads to have the valve seats cut to fit the dual springs.

Even though no affect on tune, you should get your car re-tuned anyways to get the most out of the rockers. I used LT4 springs with my 1.6RRs.

What is the lift of the 227?

Crane makes an H11 Tool Steel single spring that is good to .600 lift. Then you have the Comp/PAC 918 that is good to .600. PAC also makes a special 918 that is good to .650.

479/518, so maybe even a LT4 spring would work? im not entirely sure.

Im not even sure if it matters, because my custom lunati came for my 383 today haha, and that will have to get those pacs that are good to .650, maybe even a bigger spring lol

Go with either the 99892 or the new design 99893 which is supposed to last longer. It is a dual coil spring. It will fit without machining.

I use the 99892 on my 227---max lift is 640. The 227 max lift is 552. JMHO
