Rods and pistons for 7000 rpms

Give me some recommendations!

There may be the occasional 100 shot being sprayed, so give me some ideas on pistons for that too.

Lunati Pro-Mod rods are very good IMO and reasonably priced. Seen them stand up to some serious abuse. For pistons, I like JE or Diamonds. I prefer to avoid the Chinese stuff.

Roger that! I'm curently freshening up my 13k mile 383 and the Eagle crank and rods look a perfect as the day they were installed. Made 440rwhp N/A. Very affordable too.

The reasons for not buying Chinese stuff are varied, but even if you don't get the political/social implications there is domestic stuff that is higher quality and not much more expensive.

Callies makes good stuff too, check'em out, alittle expensive also but well worth it. Build it once and be done with it is my moto, as well as everyone elses im sure. Dont skimp out on ANYTHING, especialy if you wanna spin it that high. Make sure your engine builder does a good job on balancing it too, dont let whoever ur buying the rotating assembly from balance it, thats just my opinion. Have your engine builder do it, mine was **** retentive on it, and the balancing along on my setup was like $800 and well worth it. Its the mallory metal that gets expensive!

Dunno......On my last build I began talking to some of the local circle dirt racing people regarding what they use and what they recommend. These guys turn 8000 rpm and don't go under 6000 all that much while racing.

Not totally convinced you need to buy the most expensive parts under the sun to turn 7500 rpm. Think like everything else, all the parts have improved and certainly many of the lower priced parts are copies of the more expensive.

Bottom ends stay together, they don’t add power. Recently saw a broken crank on a supercharged car and that’s the first broken crank that I recall every seeing. Think you can do very well on a lower budget if you ask around.

Re: Rods and pistons for 7000 rpms

Manley 6" H beam, Manley platinum series forged pistons. lightweight, and durable for spray. I had a eagle rod twist and snap in two on the motor at 6400 rpm-so Im kinda superstitious about those.
