Rod bolt sizes.....

What size are you guys running and how much power are you making? i am under the impression that the arp replacement bolts for stock rods are 3/8. is this true? if so, what would you rather run, a 7/16 bolt or a 3/8 cap screw? hope all of that made sense.

Thanks,
Bobby

Re: Rod bolt sizes.....

I'm running the 3/8" Cap-Screw bolts in my Scat 4340 Forged I-Beam rods. My bottom end based on the Scat 9000 crank is *supposed* to be good to ~700 N/A flywheel HP. Advanced Induction said my car should make 425-445 rwhp, so that's ~500 flywheel HP...I'm not worried about it. I don't have the ARP rod bolts either, but they say "SCAT" on them. I've heard a couple different things, one being that ARP makes them, and one is that whichever they are, they are not a problem.

Really depends on what you're doing with the engine.
