I BELIEVE I JUST SPUN A MAIN BEARING SO I NEED TO PULL THE MOTOR OUT TO REPLACE IT. ANY ONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO DROP OR PULL AN LT1 OUT OF A 97 CAMARO??

 

Just start unbolting **** from the top and work your way down. Be sure to label everythign as you take it off though because when you're finished, it will be a bunch. You can either leave the tranny in or pull it out at the same time depending on what you decide. Just getting the front end off the ground on jackstands helps a lot, and to mention a good cherry picker. Good luck.

 

I'd say drop it from the bottom. makes working on everything else a breeze. click on sig for '95 bird. I did it by myself w/o any help, very do-able

 

Do a search on removing an engine out the bottom.
