on the rod bearings do i need them with dowel pin hole or not

wondering which heavy duty bearings from clevite to buy
CLE-CB663H1 no dowel pin hole
CLE-CB663HD1 with dowel pin hole
BOth part numbers r from summit
Thanks for any advice

Most likely, without. Unless you're running something fairly exotic.

Dowel pins are used in some aluminum Con. Rods as insurance to keep the bearing from spinning. So, unless youre running Aluminum rods Dont go for the dowel pin bearings.
