I'm planning to use LT4 valve springs so do I need new valve shims to hold the bottom of the spring?

Also, do I need to replace the valve seals on a car with 72K mi?

LT4 springs should go right in without any shims, but it is always a good idea to check installed height.

IMO, always replace the valve seals when you have the springs off (unless extremely low miles on the seals). It just doesn't make sense not to.
