Rocker arm questions,pushrods,etc.
Ok lets see if understand.I have no plans to change out cam so can get 1.6 rockers for a bit more power.I see some are self alignign and some aren't .Which ones will be quieter trying not to get any extra noise out of valvetrain.Which ones will clear valve covers with no mods or will both need some clearancing. I don't want to change valve covers.
Also do I need hardened pushrods..car is a 96..did gm make some for cheap or what brand to get and do I need stock length with 1.6 rockers. And lastly will the lt4 springs and retainers be fine for this rocker mod.

SA rockers are generally quieter than NSA ones. If you use SA rockers you won't need new pushords as they won't be getting banged around inside a guide. The LT4 springs and retainers will work just fine.
I understood that SA aligned are noisier than non SAs. Most should fit under cover with no mods or perhaps a slight bending of some sheet metal.
At any rate, RRs are a little noiser than stock but you shouldn't hear anything unless you have the hood open if they are done correctly.
Depending on the manufacturer, they might suggest a little different length of rod to get the best geometry. Of course, you can check your own geometry with an adjustable rod and get the correct length if different than stock.
Supposedly you don't really need hardened rods unless you are using guide plates that go with non-sa RRs.JMHO

My valvetrain is quite as hell, as far as I understand the NSA's are louder (I can't hear them though). Grab some 1.6 Pro Mags... You'll have to "gut" the inside of the valve covers but will still clearence after done. I think you'll be fine picking up SA rockers for your setup.
