Rocker Arm install

I just installed 1.6 rr and I think something might be wrong.

Should the intake and exhaust rockers be perfectly parallel to each other?
Most if not all, of mine are somewhat nonparallel.

Rockers are NSA.
Also, the valve covers won't even come close, to clearing the rockers.

Did I do something wrong?

More then likely you will have to modify the valve covers slightly to get them to fit under there. I just used a set of pliers and flattened the "webs" so there wasn't the little L shaped bend on the bottom and that worked perfectly.

Should fit under stock valve covers with modifying/clearencing.

What guideplates are you using? Some don't align well. GM p/n 14011051's do.

Umm, I don't know? Whatever CMotorsports gives in their kit.
Yes, they are the reason I had trouble keeping the rockers
straight. Will they be ok, this way?
Anybody have a how-to on modifying these valve covers?
I need about a 1/4" for them to fit.

Better centering with the GM plates. I had the CM ones to begin with.

Some good pics of valve cover modifications at the bottom of this page.

The LT4 valve covers don't require any clearancing. Well, unless you have Crane guideplates (I made that mistake), then you have to do a bit of grinding. The GM and Comp guideplates shouldn't require any modifying at all. I choose this route because not only do they look better IMO (especially w/ the MBA billet trim kit), they quiet down the valvetrain noise a bit.
