revlimer ????

i got on my car today and it banged of the rev limited for a split second before it shifted into second gear. It shifts hard and feels great other then that. I checked the fuild is fine but i think it has around 15-18,000 since the last time i changed it? Do you think that i just need to change fluid? IT has 73,000 miles on it. Thanks!

Re: revlimer ????

all cars have the rev limiter. It cuts the fuel around 6k if i remember correctly. I would flush the fluid if the tranny has 73k on it. But thats not going to get rid of the limiter.

Re: revlimer ????

how well does it shift into 3rd gear at wot, cause mine was doing something similar before it went out, and even after i just had it rebuilt still does that only at wot into 3rd, fluid still isnt burnt and none of the clutches show abuse, plus it only has 1k miles on it since rebuild! =/ it just seems odd that it would hit the rev limiter if everything was fine, but mine is doing it into 3rd so i cant really say, but lmk if you find out, cause im stumped, and apparently my trans builder has given up because his last fix consisted of removing the battery cable for 5 minutes -_- hope your luck is better than mine though
