It may be the rate of acceleration that will make the oil climb the back of your pan right past the pickup. Miloden or Moroso sells a plate that you bolt between the pump and block and then trim to fit your pan. Thats what I have on my car with the stock pan.

Might be irrelevant but mine is doing the same thing, it only just started after I did my oil change and went to regular 5w-30 valvoline and a max gold filter... Might just change the oil again back to synthetic and use another 1218 filter to see if it's the viscosity of the oil I used or not, maybe it lies there??

Do you have any part numbers or pics of this? I am not liking the idea having to pull up the motor and drop the pan.

OK, Just replaced my switch, now oil pressure goes to 40 cold and 20 warm and it will rise all the way to 50psi, when I SLOWLY rev it to that RPM... Oh well, time for a rebuild....

OK well Im pretty sure that the problem is not having a windage tray. I took the pump out and moved the pickup so it's like right on the bottom of the pan. This has helped a ton but it still doing it just a tiny bit, Im running the white oil pressure spring now so Im getting more pressure out of the pump not, that way I figure if it does sag a little up top the pressure will be high enough to compensate anyways. It's not dropping NEAR as much as it was before. Before it was dropping about 15-20 psi maybe more, now it's dropping MAYBE 5psi if that.. My guess is that the crank is DEFINATELY slapping the oil around in there and causing windage, but having the pickup where it should be it's sucking every little bit of oil out of the pan so that's why it's not doing it as bad now. Oh well guess i'll fool around with getting a windage tray in there on my next rebuild. Im done with it for now.

At least that sounds better. What difference in pressure are you seeing with the white spring?

Probably like 5-8psi more.. I can REALLY tell a difference when the car is cold and I rev it up, goes up to about 75 psi

Hmm thats intresting...

It's funny that this post got bumped today cause Im actually working on putting a windage tray on as I type Even though lowering my pickup made a heck of a difference, it's still doing it just a little bit and thats enough for me so Im going to put a windage tray on today and see if this helps. I think this is ultimately the problem here and am pretty sure that this is going to cure it 100%
