Reverse lockout not working

Got a problem that really needs to be fixed. My friend and I were working out some programming issues the other day and we were using a data logger type software. Long story short, the car threw a code about the reverse lock out not working and I can now place the car in reverse at any time. The solenoid appearantly isn't working or something. Any ideas on how to fix this other than to replace the solenoid? Oh, the car is a 6 speed.

Thanks

I would verify that the connector and wiring harness that connectos to the solenoid is fine before replacing the solenoid.

The wierd thing is that it was working before we hooked up the datalogger. Then, it threw the code while we were test driving it and it's been like that ever since. But, I'll definately check the connector in a day or so when I get some free time.

Did you try resetting the PCM? Pull the PCM Batt fuse and see if it goes away. Sounds like a glitch to me.

I haven't touched the car since then cause I've been at work or doing homework. I'll try that too when I get some free time.

Me too. I work on mainframe computers all night long. What do you do to fund your projects?

very very ironic. I manage a server farm for the United States Marine Corps. U.S. Marine here almost 3 years. I love what I do, just hate working the night shift. Just got done migrating 2600 mailboxes from exchange 5.5 to 2000

Edit: O yea, forgot to add, it was on a Quad Xeon 2.0GhZ Dell.... with Fibre, so it wasn't "that" bad

I guess it shouldn't take that long since you're using a fibre connection and 4 2.0ghz processors working in tandem.

Alas, I am stuck with the IBM 1.6ghz pentium 4 and a 100mbps cat5 cable.

O, I'm done already, but I'm the only one here and I have to stay here till 5AM... Gets kinda lonely.

We just got 24 million dollars to spend on new servers. So we have some BADASS systems now. We now have 50+TB of storage. I can't imagine what we need it all for, but we have it. We have a couple of extra servers sitting around doing nothing. So I turned one of them into a Halo PC game server. Its badass, and bandwidth isn't an issue Anyway, I'm about to get our of here so I'm out. Good, talking to you. Take it easy and best of luck with the solenoid.

Later man, have fun playing Halo, and don't let the brass catch you.
