Reuse Vigilante converter after A4 tranny has blown???
I have 76,000 miles on my stock A4 transmission on my 95Z. If I put a Vigilante 2800 stall torque converter in my car and the tranny goes out 3 months later is the new converter trashed or can I reuse it in the rebuilt tranny??? Thanks!

that is one of those things that can be chancy. you could have metal shavings all inside the convertor which would fry the tranny when you get it rebuilt. best thing to do would probably get the convertor checked out by someone who knows or vigilante.
I've been there done that. I can gaurantee that if you got metal in the pump it also went into the converter. If it did then the metal is imbedded in the converter clutch lining.
So if it were me to save the new tranny I would send it back to Vigilante and have the clutch replaced. If not like stated before you will run a good risk of taking out another trans. I did it with a Super Yank 3500. I sent it back to Yank and they replaced the cluch lining for 128.00. A hell of alot cheaper than taking out another tranny.o
