i have a 1994 camaro with obd1, i'm trying to retreive the codes with the paper clip method and also tried using a key that i got from autozone but these methods don't work, does anyone have any suggestions?

You must use a real scanner. The methods you are trying to use will not work.

 

Not trying too thread jack, but any suggestions for a decent scanner?? I have a can obd1&2..
