reset computer

I heard that it is good to reset the computer after you buy a used one. ( unhook batt for 5 min. ) Then it need to relearn????
how should i drive the car now??? hard or baby it?

1. You dont have to disconnect the batt to reset... In the dash fuse box look for ECM BATT, and remove... Then replace...

2. Drive the car normally as you drive it, and the ECM will re-learn on its own...

If you buy a used computer? It does not need to be reset if it was not on the car. Power has already been removed from it, so it is already reset.

As shoebox already mentioned, there is no need to reset it, however, you need to make sure the new computer has the correct calibration for your car. If it was for a different car, then it won't just "learn" your car's settings.
