Replacing lower radiator hose tips

I have a 95 z28, and my lower radiator hose went out today. I am trying to Get that stupid clamp off, but It is being a b---- to work with (I am working on it in the parking lot of my apartment complex, so I have no leverage with my arms.) Any tips? Also, the other end connects into this weird metal peice that I can't really explain, there is no clamp but its right by the right tire well. Any timps on getting that off?

Also, My engine madly over heated today, It almost red flagged. MY power steering went out as well. Is this normal when your car overheats

Thanks,
Erik

It can be very hard to get to that clamp if it is turned a certain way. Try some needle nose pliers to try to get it into a better position. You may even have to remove the fan assembly to get to it. The fan assembly will come out the bottom after disconnecting the wiring and maybe a tie if it is still there. It just hooks on the radiator side tanks. Lift up on the whole thing and it will come out. Of course you will need some room under the car to do it. Rhino Ramps work well.

If coolant got on the serpentine belt, that could cause loss of power steering assist.
