Replacing Lifters.... are these good replacements?
Replacing Lifters.... are these good replacements?
I am going to go ahead and replace the lifters in my newly acquired 1997 Z (was $3000 a good deal?). There's ticking, and it's most likely a lifter. Could just be a rocker, but with 150k miles on it, I'll just replace the lifters and get some problems out of the way. Anyways, I found these on Summit (CCA-812-16), they're Comp Cams High Energy Hydraulic Lifters. I just want to know if they'll make at least a good stock replacement.
Also, with 150k miles, what else should I look at doing as prevenative maintenance, and don't tell me rebuild it becuase I'll do that when the time is right. I realize it'll need to be rebuilt
.
Also, again, I have a post in the Parts Wanted forum, but just figured I'd resay something here to see if anyone happens to have some of these. Silver left and right fenders, silver front and rear bumpers, passenger side air bag cover, center console, radio surround trim piece. I think that's all i need irght now. With the air bag thing, if anyone has the stuff to replace the air bags, I suppose I may be interested in getting it replaced and fixed. The driver side has already been replaced I believe by the previous owner, but the module was never replaced or anything, so they're still inactive.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Replacing Lifters.... are these good replacements?
I may be wrong on this.. But I think those are OEM replacements.. I think you have to get the Comp R's if you want a more advanced lifter.
As for preventative maintenance, there was just a thread (within the last half hour) with 200,000 in the title about just that; I suggest you give it a look.
Good luck!
