Replaced Opti/Car Won't Start

Re: Replaced Opti/Car Won't Start
I did what you said, and I can't get any resistance value from the black or blue wire pins inside the sensor. I thought maybe my multimeter wasn't working, but when I touched the two test leads together, the ohm rating shot up on the display. In testing the pins, I just get a resistance of 1 on both pins.

Touching the meter leads together should produce a resistance reading close to 0 ohms, if not actually 0. What value does it "shoot up to"? Is the dial set to ohms? Do you have the leads plugged into the correct sockets? You are touching one lead to each of the two pins at the same time? How familiar are you with using a DMM?

Yes, the dial was set to ohms. When touching the leads together, the value shot up but then leveled out to zero. It's a tight fit, but I'm fairly certain I was touching both pins at the same time.
I ordered a new TPS from Advance because it was only $20, so I'll swap it tomorrow and see what happens. If need be, I can also order a new pigtail.
