removing stock exhaust manifolds

Just wonderin if anyone has anytips for me...I need to take off the passenger side on to block off the egr thingy...im havin way too much trouble tryin to get the block off plate on with the manifold still on the car...also, when taking the alternator off...anything i whould worry about, with the serp. belts or otherwise? Thanks for the help guys.

on a side note...what size are the header bolts...and do i need a contorsionist to get this thing off????

Just take the alternator off, don't have to worry about anything except the wire harness on the bottom, its not very long, so don't stretch the wires when you remove the alt. Just unclip it. I'm not sure what the thread pitch of the exhaust bolts are, but I'm pretty sure the heads are 9/16, if you are asking what size socket to use. All of the are pretty easy except the last one (near the firewall). For that one, your guess is as good as mine. I used a 1/4" ratchet and a 9/16 wrench. The first one or two (near radiator) you can get from the top, the other 4 can be had from underneath. And when you're on that last bolt, remember - patience is a virtue
