Removing main cap... question
Removing main cap... question
So, I am removing one of my main caps while I have the oil pan off to check the bearings before I put her back together and spray the nitrous. I really just got bored so I took the heads off etc.
My question is... what is the "easy" way to get the caps off? I used a rubber mallet for like an hour or two earlier today with the splayed studs out and the nuts off the middle studs. It is rocking back and forth some, but still seems near impossible to get this cap off.
I am doing all of this under my car right now... and the bearings are probably fine. I just wanted to check it for fun almost... double check my work from 3 years ago.
Anyone got any good ideas? The back and forth with a rubber mallet is all I have right now for ideas, and that seems like it might take my sanity away before I get the cap off.
Thanks

I didn't notice you could pull the long studs. I will do that asap tomorrow and hammer some more. Thanks.
Under the car I did not notice if there were notches for easy removal, but I will look for that as well.
