Removing heads without taking headers off completely

Hey I was just wondering if it was possible to remove the heads on a car without completely removing the headers. I have midlengths so I think it would be easier to remove the heads with just removing the bolts out of the head from which the headers are attached. I was planning to have the headers held in place with the bolts of the y pipe. I know I would have to remove the plugs and wires, head bolts, rockers pushrods etc. Has anyone ever attempted this with the headers on? Is there enough clearance to take the heads out.

Never done it with my headers on however i have with the stock manifolds, it was a pain in the you know where!. I recommend taking the headers out or at least loose from the Y-pipe to be able to move them around to get room to get to the bolts on the outside of the heads. Good luck

You should have enough room to get the heads out that way. I have always pulled the headers though when I pulled the heads in car though. The extra room makes it easier.
