removing exhaust manifolds

I am replacing the heads on my buddies lt1 camaro (96)...... i have all the head bolts out except for those that are covered by the exhaust manifolds. I was able to get the front 2 bolts on the manifolds out, but can't figure out how to reach the rear bolts.....I tried searching the site for a "how-to" but didn't see anything. If there is one, could u please post a link. OR else, if anyone would want to let me know a few tricks, I would greatly appreciate it....I am planing on buying a 95 z28.......so i'll prolly be on here alot......

I can't imagine it being done without removing the Y-pipe and starter, and get the rear bolts from below. I could be wrong though. Only done it one time, on a single cat 94.

Good Luck

Replacing heads and retaining stock manifolds? Whats up with that?

well he warped em when it overheated (water pump died) so he is trying to go as cheap as possible.....kid drives like a putz.....so he wouldn't use the headers to what they should be used for.
