Roller rockers.
Roller rockers.
Is it worth putting roller rockers on an otherwise stock motor? Also if so what size is stock? If stock is 1.5, is it worth going with a 1.6? Also does anyone use the Proform ones? Theyre on Ebay for $175, or should I just put out the $300 and get the Crane Golds? Thank you for any help in advance.
The stock size is 1.5. I would go ahead and get the 1.7's. You can get Scorpion 1.7's from http://www.flatlanderracing.com for $202.
You will also need new valvesprings, guideplates, hardened pushrods, and most will recommend using a 7/16 stud.
I am going to switch from my GMPP 1.6's this winter.

That sux, you even have to change the valve spring. Do you have to with the 1.6s? Also will the roller rockers from an older 350 work on this car, because I have a set of old cranes off a carbed 350? Thanks for the help.
As far as having to change valve springs when changing to 1.6's I don't know for sure if you do, but if it were me I would anyway just to play it safe.
I don't know if the old rockers will work or not, but someone on here will let you know.

You can run 1.7 rockers now with a stk. motor? I thought that piston/valve clearance was pretty tight already going with 1.6 ratio.
I remember seeing a post not too long ago, someone posted about installing 1.7 rockers and it got a lot of response. I didn't read most of it so I'm not sure if he did it on a stk. motor or one built up for more p/v clearance.
